Space Vanguard

Recently Pres. Trump signed an Executive Order "Encouraging International Support for the Recovery and Use of Space Resources". This looks innoculous by itself but I believe it is a new Manifest Destiny proclamation. Humans have managed to forcibly expunge the Isolation Memorandum Treaty and now the Galaxy is open for our exploration. Ostensibly this EO is a new legal framework for US individuals and corporations (legal fictional persons) to enter into relations and contracts with extraterestrial beings, companies, and governments for new human settlements on planets and in space. I assume that the contracts would be in the jurisdiction of the US courts, decided under US laws, and enforced by the US Space Force.  It is much like England sending out the Hudson Bay Company to explore and conduct business in the New World (North America). Presumably we could start our own unafilliated private space colonies but they would not be protected by the US Space Force.

I visited the Colonial Williamsburg VA USA living village again to study how colonies were originally set up and it became glaringly obvious that they were set up as hierarchies to funnel the Human Productive Surplus up to the government elites. That is still true today. You would think that the govt would work to make life simpler for us the productive class of citizens, but it is just the opposite. Bankers lobby to impose a for-profit check clearing system and private money creation system on us so they can manipulate the business cycle for their profit. Lawyers lobby to impose a convoluted legal system on us where signed fixed contract terms are merely negotiating points in a dispute. Insurance companies lobby to place a human bond CUSIP number on us at birth. Accountants lobby to impose dense tax laws on us like an arbitrary 39.5 year economic life on commercial structures for calculating depreciation. Arms Builders lobby the govt to invade other countries and waste resources. ...

People are getting tired of the SWIFT skimming operation on their purchases and sales. Bitcoin started out the year at US$800 and it hit 2100 today. Ethereum started the year at US$10 and just hit 146. Cryptocurrencies go up and down even more severely than manipulated US$ (private unbacked tender offers) and probably only three or four of them will survive the coming 2020 shake out. On the US Wild West frontier in the 1800's every little private bank printed up their own paper fiat money and this great expansion of dubious credit helped to finance the rapid build up of the West. Bad money tended to push out good money as most people kept their most sound currencies at home buried outside in a can. They tried to sell (tendered) their most unstable currencies for supplies and hard goods. Sean Morton has issued a severe weather warning for the Fall of 2015 going into Winter of 2016. He based his opinion on the extreme amount of heat built up in the Pacific Ocean that is being released into the atmosphere as a huge new El Nino cycle. Also on the Atlantic coast the thermal conveyor belt of warm ocean current that normally flows over to Europe has stopped near New York and may  dump the heat on the East coast and Midwest as torrential rain and blizzards. Therefore he is making detailed predictions that there will be massive flooding across the country, Manhattan will completely flood for a while, the Great Lakes will completely freeze over, and the rise in reservoir levels in Arizona will cause earthquakes there. Take the warning for what it is. Prepare some basic necessary items, practice spontaneous order, and work the problems.

Mars was probably hit by a Pluto-sized meteor in the northern hemisphere about 4 billion years ago. It really walloped the planet stripping off its atmosphere and knocking back the rapid spin of the inner core which ended the planetary dynamo generating the protective magnetic field (magnetosphere). If we want to try some creative geoengineering this is one of the first places we should look at. I am not a scientist and these are my current layperson opinions only. The northern hemisphere of Mars has the least severe weather. We might be able to place a few extreme experimental stations there by tunneling into the south side of small hills. If we strengthened the cave walls with reinforced concrete and put a strong framed three layer glass window wall on the south opening we could pump up the inside environment to maybe one-half atmosphere pressure (about 8 psi) and keep it at 60 degrees Fahrenheit so you could walk around inside without a space suit. The basic gist of it is the age old story that you probably cannot keep any planets or asteroids that you cannot defend yourself. That means that any group or company that wants to develop a colony on another planet had better bring along selfdefense equipment sufficient to protect their claim against invaders because the Earth governments will probably not assist in protecting them.
